Net Zero Cabin

Client: CABN

Location: Brockville, Canada

Budget: $150,000

Sean (previous at Sean Payne Arch Design Ltd) was tasked with providing the designs for net zero prefabricated buildings for the Canadian house builder CABN.

The houses / CABNs themselves were designed into order to meet PassivHaus principles, making use of a high performance thermal envelope and a very airtight coat around the outside of the building. This allows the building to recycle it's heat and keep the air fresh via. an MVHR unit.

The CABNs are built primarily with CLT, or cross laminated timber, providing a flat pack assembly which is strong and able to be used for a strong modern aesthetic.

We have since designed 4 base designs for CABNs in different sizes, as well as bespoke designs, dealing with clients and providing solutions to difficult sites.
